The Impact of Beer and Nonalcoholic Beer Consumption on the Gut Microbiota
TLDR: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of beer on gut microbiota and health. The study found that beer, both with and without alcohol, increased gut microbiota diversity and tended to increase faecal alkaline phosphatase activity. These results suggest that the effects of beer on gut microbiota are independent of alcohol and may be mediated by beer polyphenols.
